The Black Orchid was growing in the middle of the volcano next to a small pond. The volcano had been dormant for so long that there was lush vegetation growing all around the small blue pond. There was life swimming around and the light shining down through the top of the volcano was making the water of this small pond shimmer. It looked like glitter dancing on the surface. The reflections illuminated the walls of the volcano. I turned to Cal and Martin and said, “This is The Most Beautiful Place that I have ever seen -- we should not disturb the Black Orchid. We should let it live so that others who journey here can witness this beauty.” Then all of a sudden, we see Robert up at the opening of the volcano and he shouts down to us “LOOK OUT BELOW!” Then he throws the severed head of the serpent into the opening. There was a big splash, as the head plunged into the small shimmering pond. I turned and saw Martin pull the Black Orchid from its base. The ground started to shake as we took off running. The volcano started to rumble under our feet as we made it to the mouth of the cave. The next thing I remember is being back on the boat. Robert came running and jumped aboard and yelled “Hold on!” Then there was a loud BOOOOOOM…and smoke…and fire -- the volcano was alive again. We make it safely back to the Tiki hut where we all pass out from exhaustion. Waking the next morning I find myself alone on my boat. Had this all been a dream? Or, an hallucination? Am I insane? All I know is that I am now anchored on the shores of the Floating Islands.
