Recorded in Swannanoa North Carolina in November of 2008. Rick Olson and Brett Spivey, known as Tymble, set out along the Swannanoa River near Warren Wilson College to capture the sounds of the 17-year cicadas. Back in the studio they manipulated the sounds of the emerging cicadas. The pulsating drones hypnotized Olson and Spivey into sublime meditation -- the perfect inspiration for creating an eerie mantra using the sounds of nature.
